It was okay. The movies are better.

I honestly don't understand how this is an ongoing series. Predictable, dull, emotionless, dialogue driven plot. I knew who the murderer was before the reverend even died.

This is more of a cookbook with filler dialogue promoting the recipes found at the end of each chapter.

I found this book to be obvious. The twists in plot were expected. I didn't find the end shocking, I found it hilarious.

A real page-turner. If you enjoy a good murder mystery that you can "sink your teeth" into this novel is probably one you will "eat up." There is plenty of twists & turns to keep you guessing, and just when you think you have figured it out you will be handed another slice of cake to "chew on." And the ending is a real "cookie." Also be careful, the mention of all those tempting, tasty sweet may have you craving food while reading this "yummy" mystery. :) :)

The 14th book in the Hannah Swenson series is another great read! Fluke has written another cozy mystery with those great winning recipes. February in Lake Eden is once again eventful when Hannah, getting ready for her mother’s book launch, stumbles upon the body of Matthew Walters, a visiting minister. Matthew has been filling in at the church while Hannah’s friend Claire and her husband Bob go on their well deserved honeymoon. Hannah, her friends and her family once more take it upon themselves to solve the murder. And of course the love triangle between Norman, Mike and Hannah continues to evolve. Although there may be some trouble with the arrival of Norman’s new dental partner Doctor Bev. This novel is fast paced, humourous and always has those little twists. So cozy up with this novel and enjoy the words and the recipes.

Join Hannah Swenson in this cozy mystery series! Owner of a popular bakery featuring cookies, she also seems to become embroiled in the local mysteries, solving them with the help of family and her two swains...the first in the series is The Chocolate Chip Cookie murder.

I agree with the previous commenter--this was a fun read. The murder-mystery is the usual Hannah Swensen fare, although the sleuthing seems to be getting a bit too easy now. Stick around for the shocking cliffhanger. As for the recipes, they sound yummy for the most part, and are written in an inviting and easy-to-follow format.

As usual, it is fun to read, but there is a shocking ending, so you MUST read the next book to find out how that is solved, or if it is.
