This was a great book for anyone. The cover may look weird but it was definitely an awesome book. It was just like the saying "don't judge a book by it's cover"... which in this case was true. :)

When Ethan has to be indentured to pay his father's debts to Mr. Lyman, he finds out that his helper and room mate, Daniel is considered to be a problem by his master. But what starts out as honesty and a new start, soon reveals the lies and cruelty that lies beneath the surface. How will Ethan and Daniel survive the beatings and false accusations while working the farm?
