Add a CommentThis family friendly comedy gives delightful insight into why the old and the young need each other. Youth can benefit from their elders wisdom and the elderly are reminded that there are still many adventures to be had.
I will never tire of this heart warming tale of family, belonging and really living!
"The kid gets everything - bury us by the damn lion!" "Look - I think she's smilin`." "Well, she died like a real lion. Defending her cub." "Well, the best we can figure out, they must of been trying to fly that old prop plane upside down through the barn."......If you want to know what the above quotes are all about, SEE THIS MOVIE! P.S: Nobody hunts the second-hand lion(ess). But a herd of brats and snotty in-laws get a BIG surprise (and did you know there`s such a thing as Lion Chow? There Is In THIS Movie!) ENJOY!
5 stars!! Great story, about REAL men - not politically correct. Duvall and Caine give wonderful, believable performances; story is hilarious at times. Scene with young punks in saloon is priceless. A great family film the kids should see.
Great family movie. Great stars and enjoyable script. Hard to beat.
EXCELLENT feel-good, well-acted, delightful cast movie. I highly recommend it.
Great acting from two old hands (bad pun) and a young boy (15 when he made the movie acting true to type), a bit of mystery, bunches of humour and a whole lot of whimsy make for a really enjoyable couple of hours. As Mikey said, "Try it; you'll like it."
VERY GOOD 2003 film with sophisticated aging plot - and more written by Tim McCanlies.
There is significant inner-outer/back and forth memory aspects as it mixes youth and old age 'growing up'.
Might have to see it a couple times for me to pick up all the cinematic shenanigans...
Two aging actors reminiscent of the heady days when movies included acting, plot, suspense, smiles.... a worthy movie, a fun one, and a crying shame there aren't 50 years more coming from these two guys.
great fun, Great adventure, one of my favorite movies.
Excellent film! Great performances by all of the cast. Wonderful film to enjoy with children and for adults also.
